Inset: Christian Alejandro Fonseca (Webb County Sheriff’s Office). Background: The 100 block of St. Pierre Lane in Laredo, Texas, where Christian Fonseca allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend on Friday (Google Maps).
In Texas, a 20-year-old man reportedly turned up at his former girlfriend’s residence and started to jump on her new boyfriend’s car hood, which led to the boyfriend confronting him outside — starting a conflict that concluded with the new boyfriend being stabbed, according to authorities.
Christian Fonseca allegedly appeared at his ex-girlfriend’s home in Laredo around 1:48 a.m. on Friday and began vandalizing her boyfriend’s vehicle, as reported by local news outlets NBC and ABC affiliate KGNS and the Laredo Police Department.
The woman, residing on St. Pierre Lane, stayed inside while her current boyfriend went outside to investigate why Fonseca was jumping on his car. Police stated that a confrontation unfolded, and Fonseca allegedly attempted to force his way to his ex-girlfriend by storming through the front door.
An altercation broke out between the two men, and Fonseca allegedly stabbed the new boyfriend. Despite the victim’s injuries, they were not life-threatening, and Fonseca was apprehended a few houses away from his ex’s place after the police were alerted by the ex-girlfriend.
According to the Laredo Morning Times, Fonseca was already under a criminal trespass warning due to prior harassment allegations. Court documents indicate he had been arrested previously in August for resisting arrest and trespassing, but was released on bond after these incidents, reports the Times.
It’s unclear if those alleged crimes had anything to do with the ex-girlfriend. The Laredo Police Department did not respond to Law&Crime’s requests for comment and more information.
Fonseca was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the latest incident on Friday. He remained behind bars without bond Sunday.
