Dad Threatens 11-Year-Old Son for Asking for Food, Calls 911 to Have Him Removed

A father from South Carolina has landed in jail following accusations that he threatened his 11-year-old son when the boy requested food.

According to a statement by the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas Baker, 44, contacted 911, demanding the removal of his son from his home, claiming the child was “unruly” and disobedient. However, the police report suggests that Baker himself was the one displaying unruly behavior.

The boy recounted to deputies that after asking for food, his father responded with a threat, saying, “Get the f*** out of my room or I’m going to wreck your f***** face,” as noted in the police report. Baker allegedly made additional menacing remarks, even instructing the boy to harm himself.

Court documents reveal the event was recorded on video, which was handed over to the authorities. The boy expressed to them that he was terrified and uncertain about his father’s potential actions, according to WIS.

Now in the care of a relative, the child is safe, while Baker faces charges for unlawful conduct towards a child and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
