Dad Arrested After Claiming Missing Infant Son Was Taken During Armed Robbery

Georgia police said on Monday that the father of a missing 6-month-old boy is a suspect in his disappearance.

According to WSB-TV, Clayton County police have apprehended Antonio Pearce, 38, on charges not associated with his primary concern, as they continue to search for his missing son, Nnakai Pratt. This follows reports from the previous day indicating that Pratt was taken from his car seat during an armed robbery involving Pearce.

In the course of their investigation, officers have noted suspicious elements in the report from Sunday and suspect foul play might be a factor in Pratt’s disappearance.

A woman who claims to have dated Pearce informed WSB-TV she was unaware of his fatherhood. Although police have questioned her, it remains uncertain if she is a suspect in this case.

As reported by WAGA, police are combing through woodlands close to the family’s apartment complex, searching for Pratt, who has a twin. They have employed bloodhounds and cadaver dogs in their efforts, though the infant remains missing.

According to WXIA, police examined and seized an SUV that was parked at the scene.

Pearce is currently incarcerated without the possibility of bond, facing charges for marijuana possession, improper child restraint, and driving with a suspended license. However, no charges have been filed against him related to his son’s disappearance.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Clayton County Police Department at 770-477-3550.
