A Wisconsin man is incarcerated for sending a handwritten letter to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office, threatening to “shoot your precious president in his head” — in response to his loved ones allegedly being deported by the Trump administration, according to federal officials.
“You have been deporting my family and I think it is time Donald J. Trump get what he has coming to him,” wrote Ramon Morales Reyes in his one-page letter, which was received on May 21 by an ICE field intelligence officer, according to a Homeland Security press release.
“We are tired of this President messing with us Mexicans,” Reyes allegedly said. “We have done more for this country than you white people.”

ICE arrested Reyes on May 22 and booked him at the Dodge County Jail in Juneau, Wisconsin, pending removal proceedings as he was “in the U.S. illegally,” according to DHS officials. It’s unclear when he arrived, only that he’s been coming to the U.S. since 1998.
“I will self deport myself back to Mexico,” Reyes allegedly said in his letter.

“But not before I use my 30 yard 6 [SIC] to shoot your precious president in is head [SIC],” he added, making a reference to a .30-06 rifle. “I will see him at one of his big ralleys.”
The arrest comes as immigration and deportations have become two of the most polarizing legal issues for President Donald Trump and his administration, with lawsuits and court rulings mounting related to allegations of civil rights violations and court mandates being ignored.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem noted in a statement Wednesday how Reyes’ threats also come after several other arrests related to assassination threats in recent months.
“This threat comes not even a year after President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania and less than two weeks after former FBI Director Comey called for the President’s assassination,” Noem said. “All politicians and members of the media should take notice of these repeated attempts on President Trump’s life and tone down their rhetoric. I will continue to take all measures necessary to ensure the protection of President Trump.”
