Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have taken Martin Delray Lavel Cloud, 36, into custody following accusations of indecent exposure and unauthorized filming of women along a trail in Gainesville. The incident reportedly took place yesterday.

According to a Gainesville Police Department report, a woman running on the Hawthorne Trail around 8:30 a.m. on March 23 observed a man visibly engaging in inappropriate behavior. She noted that his hand motioned suspiciously near his crotch area. As she looped back, she noticed the man’s camera was aimed at her, tracking her movements.

Officers on the scene reportedly caught Cloud in the act of filming another woman on the trail. Upon spotting the patrol car, Cloud attempted to escape but was quickly captured after a short pursuit on foot.

The arrest documents reveal that Cloud was removed from the Sexual Offender registry earlier this month, on March 11, 2026. Although he was born in Gainesville, his current address is listed in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he is employed at a Walmart. He was identified through a Georgia ID, and related court records suggest he is presently residing in Gainesville.

Investigators suspect there could be more victims and urge anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity to reach out to Gainesville Police Department detectives at 352-393-7670.

Cloud has been charged with indecent exposure and resisting an officer without violence. His full criminal history is unavailable; his criminal history in Alachua County stops in 2015, and he had three misdemeanor convictions at that time. He was arrested in Georgia in 2021 on misdemeanor charges of sexual battery, battery, public indecency, and disorderly conduct; he entered a plea of nolo contendere to battery and was sentenced to 364 days in jail, and the rest of the charges were dropped. Also in 2021, he was charged with child molestation, cruelty to children, and violating probation; he entered a plea of nolo contendere to cruelty to children and was sentenced to one year in jail, followed by five years of probation, and he was required to register as a sexual offender; his probation was revoked after he was arrested in August 2025 for exploiting an elderly person.

Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $10,000 on the new charges.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
