Timothy Busfield: Wife Melissa Gilbert Pleads for Accused Child Sex Abuser’s Safety in Jail

Melissa Gilbert, famous for her role in “Little House on the Prairie,” was moved to tears during a court hearing for her husband, Timothy Busfield, in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. The hearing was part of Busfield’s pretrial detention process.

Timothy Busfield, an Emmy Award-winning actor, has been released from a New Mexico jail as he awaits trial on serious charges of child sexual abuse. The accusations involve inappropriate contact with two 11-year-old twin boys during his time directing episodes of the popular TV series, “The Cleaning Lady.”

While working on the series, Busfield reportedly encouraged the boys to refer to him as “Uncle Tim.” The alleged misconduct occurred on several occasions, with the boys’ parents claiming that Busfield disguised these inappropriate actions as mere “play.”

One of the twins, referred to as “SL,” alleged that Busfield touched him inappropriately over his clothing. SL’s parents revealed that he now suffers from nightmares and has been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which they attribute to the incidents involving Busfield.

Rumors have emerged suggesting that one of the boys became withdrawn from the set, showing reluctance to continue participating as before. Initially, when the young actors reported their allegations to investigators, they provided a narrative inconsistent with their later claims.

The investigators questioned the boys about their understanding of private body areas and whether anyone had touched them there. Despite the allegations, both boys initially answered “no” when asked if Timothy Busfield had touched their private areas.

Lawyers for Busfield say he passed an independent polygraph and is innocent of all charges.
