GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Miguel Angel Rodriguez-Morgado, 57, was arrested yesterday after a lawncare worker reported that Rodriguez-Morgado touched his genitals and propositioned him while he was working at the residence.
An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to Rodriguez-Morgado’s home at about 4:46 p.m. on September 7. The victim told the deputy he had been performing landscaping work for Rodriguez-Morgado when Rodriguez-Morgado allegedly began flirting with him and offered him money to stay.
According to the victim, he said he was not interested and started to leave. He reported that Rodriguez-Morgado then grabbed his arm and placed cash in his pocket, and while doing so, put his hand on the victim’s genitals. The victim said he pulled away, left the property, and called 911.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, Rodriguez-Morgado reportedly acknowledged touching the victim’s arm but denied grabbing his genitals.
Rodriguez-Morgado has been charged with simple battery. Court records indicate he has no criminal history, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set his bail at $10,000.
