GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Keshawn Quantrell Taylor, 25, was arrested yesterday on six sexual battery charges, including five counts involving a victim under the age of 12 and one count involving a juvenile victim over the age of 12.

According to the arrest report, the victim told her legal guardian that Taylor had “raped” her. That disclosure led to a forensic interview, during which the victim described alleged incidents over a roughly five-year period, beginning when she was seven years old.

The victim reportedly said some of the alleged incidents took place in an RV parked on the property where Taylor lives.

After being read his Miranda rights, Taylor reportedly admitted to sexually battering the victim starting when she was seven years old. According to the report, he said he took steps to avoid pregnancy because he feared being caught and referred to himself as a “chomo.”

Taylor is charged with five counts of sexual battery on a victim under 12 and one count of sexual battery on a juvenile victim over 12. He has no local criminal convictions, but court records show he was arrested in 2021 on a dealing in stolen property charge and in 2025 on a lewd or lascivious molestation charge involving a victim between 12 and 16; both cases were later dismissed. Judge Joy Danne ordered Taylor held without bail pending a hearing on a State Attorney’s Office motion to detain him without bail until trial. If that motion is denied, bail will be set at the hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
