Gainesville Resident Receives 10-Year Prison Sentence Following Child Pornography Conviction

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a significant legal development, Miko Jay Bryles, aged 30, has received a prison sentence of 10 years, complemented by a subsequent decade of sexual offender probation. This follows his plea of nolo contendere to eight charges related to child pornography.

The legal proceedings against Bryles began after his arrest on March 26, 2025. He faced charges for 52 felonies connected to the possession and dissemination of child pornography. This resulted from an investigation by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, which was prompted by three CyberTips concerning the upload and distribution of child sexual abuse material. His arrest report disclosed that the evidence obtained included multiple disturbing images and videos depicting sexual battery and sadomasochistic abuse involving children.

Although Bryles initially faced eleven formal charges, these were streamlined as part of a plea agreement. He was charged with eight counts of possessing 10 or more images of child pornography and three counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child. However, three of the possession charges were dropped in the plea deal.

The plea arrangement highlighted the severity of the offenses, with a potential maximum penalty of 120 years in prison. Ultimately, Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard imposed a sentence of 10 years in state prison, accounting for 398 days already served. Following his release, Bryles will undergo 10 years of sexual offender probation and will be registered as a sexual offender.
