GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Angelique Monaé Curtis, 24, was arrested last night after allegedly pointing a gun at three people and threatening to shoot them.
Around 8 p.m. on September 25, a Gainesville Police Department officer went to Banyon Hammock Apartments after Curtis’s boyfriend reported that the two had argued throughout the day.
Curtis reportedly left a family member’s residence in a separate vehicle at approximately 7:30 p.m. and returned to the apartment she shares with her boyfriend.
About 30 minutes later, her boyfriend arrived with several other people and attempted to enter the apartment. Curtis allegedly blocked the doorway. Her boyfriend then banged on the door, while a second person “donkey-kicked” it, leaving visible dents.
Curtis allegedly stepped outside carrying her boyfriend’s firearm and pointed it at him and the second victim, prompting both to flee down the stairs. From the top of the staircase, Curtis allegedly aimed the gun downward. A neighbor who was in the line of fire said she feared she would be shot.

The neighbor told police she saw the firearm’s barrel and heard Curtis say, “I will shoot you,” followed by, “If y’all come back and try to break in, I’ll shoot you.”
Curtis also reportedly told an officer spontaneously that she had said, “I will shoot you.”
Curtis faces three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was also arrested in 2025 after allegedly joining two other women in an attack on a female victim in the 1000 block of West University Avenue. In August 2026, she pleaded nolo contendere to simple battery. Judge Meshon Rawls withheld adjudication of guilt and ordered her to pay a $753 fine.
Judge George Wright initially ordered Curtis held without bail on the new charges while awaiting a State Attorney’s Office motion seeking to keep her detained without bail through trial. The motion was withdrawn on September 29, and bail has not yet been set.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
