GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Beverly Sue Hollriegel, 60, was arrested yesterday after allegedly pointing a long gun at a neighbor during a dispute over property lines.
An Alachua County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the 2100 block of NW 55th Terrace at about 2:26 p.m. on October 13. The victim told the deputy that he and Hollriegel had argued over the boundaries between their back yards before she allegedly pointed a long gun at him.
The victim showed the deputy a video of the encounter. According to the deputy’s report, the footage showed Hollriegel aiming the long gun at the victim in a threatening manner and ordering him to get off her property. The two were in their respective back yards, separated by a fence. Although the video did not capture the entire incident, the deputy said it did not show the victim acting aggressively toward Hollriegel.
The victim said he feared he would be shot. However, the deputy’s inspection determined that the weapon was a “BB or pellet gun capable of firing projectiles and not a firearm.”
