Gainesville Woman Arrested for Puncturing Boyfriend With Nail Board

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sierra Skye Fararo-Curran, 34, was arrested early Wednesday after authorities said she attacked her boyfriend with a nail protruding from a wooden board and threw a candle holder at him.

At approximately 1:12 a.m. Sept. 24, an Alachua County Sheriff’s deputy contacted the alleged victim near a residence in the 6500 block of SW 53rd Avenue. According to the victim, Fararo-Curran struck him the previous evening with a board fitted with a nail. He also told investigators that she forcefully squeezed and twisted his testicle because she suspected he was being unfaithful.

The victim further alleged that Fararo-Curran had thrown a candle holder at his back roughly two days earlier. He said the attacks had occurred intermittently for about four months and attributed them to her failure to take prescribed mental health medication.

The deputy documented a recent puncture wound on the victim’s arm, which was reportedly caused by the nail, along with a bruise and fresh gouge on his back that investigators associated with the candle holder.

After being read her Miranda rights, Fararo-Curran reportedly acknowledged grabbing and twisting the victim’s testicles because she believed he was cheating. She denied striking him with the board, but said she had taken it into her bedroom after picking it up because she was afraid of the victim.

The deputy said both the board with the attached nail and the candle holder were found inside the residence.

Fararo-Curran faces two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of domestic battery. Her record includes one nonviolent felony conviction and six nonviolent misdemeanor convictions. Three 2025 cases involving battery allegations were later dismissed, with some involving the same alleged victim in this case. Judge Adam Lee set bail at $80,000 and ordered Fararo-Curran to live separately from the victim if she is released.
