An Idaho-registered sex offender is behind bars after police found a missing Georgia child in his vehicle.
WYFF 4 reported that on Friday, a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled Caelen Dennis, 25, in Franklin County, Georgia.
The deputy was notified about Dennis’s vehicle via a Flock Safety camera. This vehicle was associated with a report concerning a missing person.
During the officer’s investigation, he found inside Dennis’s vehicle a juvenile who had been reported missing from the Washington area.
Dennis, identified as a registered sex offender, “is prohibited from having contact with minor children,” as per the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office media release.
Dennis was arrested and taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.
“This incident underscores the necessity for parents to diligently monitor their children’s online behavior and social media interactions to ensure their safety,” stated the sheriff’s office.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
