HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Kyle Durant Kirby, 31, faces a charge of lewd or lascivious molestation involving a child younger than 16.
The incident was reported to the High Springs Police Department in February after the alleged victim told a family member that Kirby had touched her in a sexual manner.
According to the arrest report, the Department of Children and Families had investigated the victim’s family twice in 2024. The agency did not refer the family for services.
Kirby has a 2019 misdemeanor conviction for domestic battery.
Prosecutors have filed a formal charge of lewd or lascivious molestation of a juvenile between the ages of 12 and 16. Kirby is being held without bail while the court considers a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to keep him jailed without bail through trial. If the judge denies that motion, bail will be determined at the hearing.
