High Springs Resident Faces Charges for Video Voyeurism: Community on Alert

Staff Report

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – In a troubling turn of events, 40-year-old Trevize Henry Nixon faces serious charges of video voyeurism after incriminating photos and videos were found on digital storage devices linked to him. He has been charged with eight counts related to these offenses, which have surfaced during a detailed investigation.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Detective leading the case revealed that Nixon has been incarcerated from 2021 to 2025, indicating that all illicit recordings were made prior to 2021. The investigation uncovered three disturbing photos taken from a vantage point on the ground or floor, capturing adult victims’ underwear beneath their dresses. Additionally, videos discovered show victims walking over the camera, with their undergarments visible under their outfits.

Beyond these specific instances, the devices contained “thousands” of videos depicting what the detective described as “sexual deviant behavior.” Among these, some videos showed Nixon posing suggestively while dressed in women’s clothing, while others captured him engaging in inappropriate behavior in public, such as inside stairwells or while driving.

Alarmingly, some of the footage appeared to be recorded in public restrooms, showing women entering, and in vulnerable moments, as they prepared to use the facilities.

Nixon’s legal troubles have been mounting. In July 2025, he was charged with eight counts of digital voyeurism through a sworn complaint. These formal charges came to fruition on November 18, shortly after his November 13 arrest for failing to attend a sentencing hearing. This hearing was related to a prior plea of nolo contendere for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Nixon has three felony convictions (one violent), not including the drug charge, because he has not been sentenced yet. He has served three state prison sentences, with his most recent release in May 2025. He is also facing a sworn complaint for indecent exposure but has not yet been booked on that charge. Bail on the video voyeurism charges is set at $400,000, but he must serve the sentence for the drug charge before he can post bail.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
