The husband of the New York woman whose body was found in a bloody duffle bag over the weekend reportedly received a text message threatening him and his children.

“Your whole family is next,” the text message read, WPIX-TV reports..

The victim, 51-year-old Orsolya Gaal, was discovered Saturday morning inside a piece of luggage dumped along a sidewalk on Metropolitan Avenue near Forest Park in Queens.

Police followed a blood trail that led to her family’s home about a half-mile away where investigators believe the mother of two was killed.

At the house, police questioned Gaal’s 13-year-old son and later released him. He reportedly told officers that he didn’t know where his mother was located.

Gaal’s husband, Howard Klein, and their 17-year-old son were traveling out of state visiting college campuses at the time of the killing.

Whoever threatened Klein also claimed they had been jailed or imprisoned at some point in the past because of Gaal, according to the television station. The suspect allegedly threatened to kill the entire family if Klein contacted police.

Sources disclosed to WPIX-TV that Gaal told the youngest son she was going out on Friday night to see a show. Police are pursuing the theory that a man Gaal knew or was familiar with in some way met her and later murdered her in her basement, the sources told the television station.

The man put Gaal’s body in the duffle bag and dragged it from the home to the park area, where a local resident walking his dog made the gruesome discovery Saturday morning.A security camera recorded what appeared to be someone dragging a duffle bag Saturday morning in the dark through Gaal’s neighborhood, according to the New York Post.

In an earlier telephone interview with the Post, Klein had said he was “in the middle of a terrible experience.” He expressed gratitude that his younger son was safe, but said his family’s “lives are at stake,” according to the Post.

“There are concerns about our safety,” Klein told the Post. “Our lives are at risk.”

Police are reportedly watching the family’s house around the clock. No arrests have been announced.
