In a turn of events that has drawn attention to the Duggar family once again, Josh Duggar, currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for child pornography charges, is voicing his thoughts following the arrest of his younger brother, Joseph Duggar, in Florida on allegations of child molestation.
Josh Duggar’s legal representative communicated to the Daily Mail that Joseph’s recent arrest has left his client “deeply saddened.” The attorney further clarified that Josh has not maintained regular contact with Joseph, who is accused of inappropriate conduct involving a 9-year-old girl back in 2020.
“Josh is acutely aware of the stigma surrounding such accusations,” the attorney articulated. “He lives with the enduring reality of how baseless claims can devastate one’s life, and understands how sensationalism can warp the truth into something unrecognizable.”

The allegations against Joseph stem from a 2020 family trip to Palm Beach. According to police records, the victim, a 14-year-old at the time, reported that Joseph had inappropriately touched her after inviting her to sit on his lap and subsequently beside him under a blanket. It is claimed that he then moved her underwear and touched her genitals and thighs.
Reports indicate that Joseph Duggar later expressed remorse for his behavior and ceased the alleged misconduct.
Confrontation ensued when the victim’s father approached Joseph Duggar about the alleged abuse, leading to Joseph’s purported confession to both the father and local authorities in Tontitown.
Duggar, who was arrested in Arkansas, is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. He is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.
