The discovery of a Kentucky woman’s body in an Indiana fish and wildlife area has prompted an investigation, with authorities focusing on a potential suspect in connection with her death.
Henderson, Kentucky, officials have yet to confirm whether they are treating the case as a homicide investigation.
The remains were uncovered on Sunday at Indiana’s Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area, situated just a few miles north of the Kentucky border. Authorities identified the deceased as 35-year-old Kristina Robison. Investigators believe she was killed in Henderson, Kentucky, located a few miles to the south, before her body was discarded in the popular fishing spot.
The Henderson police have identified a person of interest in the case. This individual reportedly “became startled and took Ms. Robison to Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area, where he left her,” according to police statements.
The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been arrested on separate drug charges and outstanding warrants. He is currently detained in Knox County, Indiana.
Authorities are also awaiting the results of a toxicology report to establish the official cause of Robison’s death.
