Kidnapping victim in Sydney's south-west released by alleged captors
A man who was allegedly kidnapped in Sydney‘s southwest has been released by his captors as authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the incident.
The kidnapping, which was caught on CCTV, took place on Tuesday at about 10.30pm in Bass Hill after a white car was seen pulling up to a house before two men emerged, hiding and seemingly waiting for the alleged target.

A white ute arrives at the end of a cul-de-sac, seemingly part of a prearranged encounter. Moments later, one man is seen dashing towards Albert Harmouche and firing a gun.

It was established a group of unknown men had approached a 43-year-old man as he was getting out of his car at the address.

Subsequently, three individuals drag the 43-year-old from the ute, pulling him across the street and into a white car before making a hasty escape.

Although the specifics remain unclear, reports suggest Harmouche has been freed by his alleged captors.

It is still uncertain whether he has suffered any injuries or what his current condition might be.

Sources from 9News indicate that Harmouche is someone known to the police, though he doesn’t seem to have ties to any major criminal gangs.

Investigators are now delving into claims that the captors demanded a ransom amounting to a seven-figure sum.
