Kelly Hagens, 56, of Jacksonville Beach, won the $8.75 million Florida Lotto jackpot from the game’s May 7 drawing, according to the Florida Lottery.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — On Monday, the Florida Lottery announced the winner of a $8.75 million jackpot ticket sold earlier this year at a store in Jacksonville Beach.

Kelly Hagens, 56, of Jacksonville Beach, claimed the $8.75 million Florida Lotto jackpot from the drawing held on May 7, as reported by the Florida Lottery. She purchased the lucky ticket at J and J Food Store, located at 632 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach.

On May 9, the Florida Lottery says Hagens claimed the winning ticket at the lottery’s headquarters in Tallahassee.

Hagens matched all six numbers from the drawing, which were: 1-8-12-24-33-47.

The Florida Lotto’s website indicates that the odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 7.61, while the odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 22,957,480.

As of Monday, August 25, the Florida Lotto jackpot has increased to $28.25 million, which is almost $20 million higher than when Hagens won. The Florida Lotto holds drawings every Wednesday and Saturday.
