Police investigations revealed that the argument started when Flores allegedly attempted to cut in line, leading to a verbal confrontation with the victim. As the situation intensified, Flores reportedly grabbed a mason jar and smashed it over the victim’s head. Subsequently, Calles is accused of using the broken glass shards to stab the victim “multiple times.”
Police did not provide information about any connection or relationship between Flores and Calles.
Witnesses at the scene told police that Flores and Calles left the shopping center parking lot in their respective cars and took photos of the cars and their license plates. Police said they were able to track both vehicles to the two suspects and soon took both men into custody.
The alleged victim was brought to the hospital in stable condition.
Flores and Calles were both charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, battery with serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, with an added special allegation with great bodily injury. Both are each being held on $250,000 bond at the Maguire Correctional Facility.
Calles is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
