An Indiana jury has found a man guilty of killing his girlfriend during an argument after he reportedly told responding officers that he had “barely touched the trigger.”
Reginald Brooks, 55, was prosecuted for the death of Sajdah Abdur-Rabb, 50, according to records from Allen Superior Court reviewed by Law&Crime.
Jurors returned a guilty verdict this week, regional CBS affiliate WANE reported.

A GoFundMe campaign created after the Fort Wayne shooting, which has since been deactivated, described Abdur-Rabb as a grandmother of 10. Her relatives said they were “in complete shock” over her death.
“Never would we have thought this would be our reality,” the family wrote in the fundraiser, according to local ABC and NBC affiliate WPTA. “Domestic violence has shattered our world.”
Brooks is due to be sentenced on Oct. 30 and could receive a prison term of up to 85 years.
