A New Hampshire man”s alleged crime spree came to an abrupt end when police found him running around a motorcycle shop without a shirt.

Zacharie Hart, 29, was taken into custody by Manchester police on Monday after he became the primary suspect in a string of alleged offenses in the vicinity. The Manchester Police Department reported that officers were called to address a burglary in progress at a local business. Shortly after, additional reports were received about a possible suspect, later identified as Hart, seen running in the area.

Police caught up with Hart near a motorcycle shop after the suspect gave chase — and then they found out that he had allegedly struck elsewhere.

As per court records obtained by local ABC station WMUR, workers at a local business reported a burglary upon hearing glass breaking and observing a man in gray shorts without a shirt sprinting through their parking lot. Upon police arrival to investigate, dispatchers were alerted to a second business burglary plus a nearby neighborhood carjacking incident.

In a Facebook update about Hart’s capture, police mentioned the suspect was located “running through a yard” and captured following a brief pursuit. Concurrently, they discovered an “unoccupied, crashed vehicle” at a dead-end, which appeared to have collided with signs and bollards.

Upon Hart’s arrest, police received fresh reports of a potential armed robbery. Court files revealed that an elderly woman was apparently attacked with a metal pipe when the suspect, allegedly Hart, attempted to break into her residence. Another individual was purportedly assaulted by Hart as well.

A metal pipe was found in the abandoned vehicle, according to police.

Court documents indicate Hart allegedly took two sets of keys during the robbery and made off with the woman’s car, subsequently crashing it at the dead-end.

Police stated, “After obtaining video footage from multiple sources, it became evident to police that Hart was the suspect in all of the incidents.”

Hart now faces charges including two counts of burglary, armed robbery, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, attempted first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of conduct after an accident, two counts of felony criminal mischief, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, violation of bail conditions, and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

WMUR reported that Hart was previously convicted for criminal threatening in 2020 and a drug charge in 2023.
