No charges will be filed in connection with the shooting at DaBaby’s multi-million dollar property in North Carolina, according to authorities.
The 30-year-old rapper and at least one other person were at the mansion when gunfire broke out the night of April 13. When authorities responded to the scene around 7:45 p.m., they “found one subject suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.”

In a Facebook post on Thursday, the Troutman Police Department revealed they completed their investigation into the shooting, and after consulting with the Iredell County District Attorney’s Office, decided against filing charges in the case.
Authorities did not identify the shooter nor the gunshot victim, but TMZ, citing police sources, reported a 26-year-old intruder was wounded after he scaled the walls of DaBaby’s estate in Troutman, about 30 miles north of Charlotte. He reportedly exchanged words with the rapper, who in turn, allegedly shot him in the leg.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathan Kirk, seemed to insinuate he himself was the shooter.
“Chose not to take a n—- life the other day & it felt great,” he wrote. “Buddy ain’t deserve to go, I step righteously. Heal up & live my boy! Just don’t bring ya ass back.”
In a 911 call released after the incident shared by WCNC Charlotte, an unidentified caller tells the dispatcher he “shot” an alleged trespasser “in his leg.”
“He is trespassing on my property, calling me by my name,” he continued. “I don’t know what he here for, what he here to take, what he here to do but he’s shot in his leg, he’s neutralized until you guys get here.”
