A tragic discovery unfolded when a woman in her 60s was found deceased in her home, where she had remained unnoticed for several weeks, according to police reports.
Detective Inspector David Gill revealed that the woman’s body was discovered at a residence in Lissadell Court during the afternoon hours of the previous day.
Authorities suspect that the woman had been dead inside her home for a number of weeks before being found.
“Currently, we are treating her death as suspicious,” stated Gill, “though we remain open to the possibility that she may have died from natural causes.”
A man connected to the incident has been taken in for a mental health evaluation.
The discovery was made by an individual who visited the home and found the door ajar, leading them to enter and stumble upon the scene.
Police were called, and a crime scene was declared.
“While a formal identification has not yet been undertaken, we believe the woman is aged in her 60s and she also resided at the Lissadell Court address,” Gill said.
“An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow morning to determine the cause of the woman’s death.”
