A Virginia woman reportedly called 911 to report that she believed she shot her ex-boyfriend, then met cops in a grocery store parking lot.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office revealed in a press release on its website the arrest of 32-year-old Ashlynn Blair. Police reported that Blair called 911 on Friday, allegedly claiming she “thinks” she shot her unidentified 31-year-old ex-boyfriend. Blair was waiting in the parking lot of a Giant grocery store, where she was subsequently apprehended by sheriff’s deputies.
The sheriff’s office stated that deputies were dispatched following a shooting report at 12:40 p.m. on Friday. Blair contacted 911 herself, indicating to the dispatcher that she “thinks” she shot her ex-boyfriend at his residence and provided her current location.
Authorities reached the Giant grocery store’s parking area, as Blair had indicated. It is alleged she possessed a firearm, and police detained her at the scene.
At the same time, police responded to the home where Blair told them the alleged shooting took place. Upon their arrival, sheriff’s deputies found a 31-year-old man and declared him deceased at the scene. Police determined that the alleged shooting occurred as a result of a domestic situation.
Blair was booked into the Rappahannock Regional Jail and charged with second-degree murder and using a firearm while committing a felony. She is being held without bond. Her next court date is scheduled for Sept. 10.
