Staff report based on an Alachua Police Department release
ALACHUA, Fla. – The Alachua Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying two people accused of burglarizing Brown’s Country Buffet on June 13.

Police said the break-in happened at about 10:05 p.m. on June 13, 2026, at the restaurant, located at 14423 NW U.S. Highway 441. According to investigators, two suspects entered through the rear of the business with their faces covered and gloves on. Once inside, they went to the cash register area and began forcing open registers and the main money box. Police said the suspects also used a Ryobi circular saw fitted with a red Milwaukee blade to cut into a larger safe.
The first suspect was described as wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black pants, white Adidas Lite Racer Adapt 4.0 running shoes and black gloves. Police said the suspect’s face was covered with a tied teal or turquoise shirt.
The second suspect was described as wearing a dark blue long-sleeve shirt, black jeans, light blue underwear, white gloves and black shoes with lettering on the side that may read “ASAP.” Investigators said the suspect was also carrying a camouflage backpack and had a black shirt covering his face.
Investigators said the suspects used a bright yellow pry bar with visible wear marks to get inside and break into the registers. Orange-handled wire cutters were also seen. Police said the suspects cut the wire to the interior video system at about 10:07 p.m. before leaving through the rear of the business around 10:09 p.m.
Detectives are asking anyone who noticed suspicious activity near Brown’s Country Buffet, NW 125th Street, NW 150th Avenue, Alachua Forest or the Alachua Hills neighborhood between about 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on June 13, 2026, to contact law enforcement. Investigators are also asking residents and business owners in the area to review surveillance footage from that time period.
