People all around the world have been talking about a peculiar occurrence in Texas, where a woman called Rebecca Lanette Taylor was arrested for attempting to buy an infant inside a Walmart store.

According to the New York Post, Rebecca is accused of giving a woman $500,000 to induce her to sell her child.

The unusual encounter occurred approximately a week ago at a Walmart in Crockett, Texas. The infant’s mother also alerted the police when the women were at the self-checkout counter, according to the police. Taylor is said to have made a remark about her sons’ blonde hair and blue eyes.

According to the mother, Lanette was accompanied by another woman as well.

According to the news, the mother tried to laugh it off; however, Taylor insisted, later following the woman out in the parking lot where she offered $500,000 for the baby.

According to the Messenger, in the parking lot, “Taylor began screaming at (the mom), saying if she wouldn’t take $250,000 for him, then she would give her $500,000 because she wanted him and she was going to take him.”

The incident took place a week ago. After the mother filed a complaint, police nabbed the accused of her home in Crockett. When the incident occurred, there was another woman with Lanette.

 Rebecca Lanette Taylor is currently out on bail after getting arrested on the charges of sale or purchase of a child, a third-degree felony.

According to the ketk, Rebecca got booked into the Houston County Jail, where she was held on a $50,000 bond. However, as per the latest news, she is currently out on bail.

Taylor was arrested after the mother of a boy, whom she made an offer to buy her son, filed a complaint. Lt. Ahlea Price of the Crocket Police Department filed an affidavit and went on to the accused house.

As per Price, upon questioning Lanette at her house door, “She told me that she doesn’t like thieves, then she stated I could speak with her attorney and to get off her ‘precipice.’ She slammed the door shut.”
