Florida police have identified remains found in Tampa’s McKay Bay earlier this month and said they are now working the case as a homicide.

Fishermen found body parts in the bay on November 11 and 12, including a leg with a distinctive tattoo bearing the names Sean, Greg, and Zach, as CrimeOnline previously reported. That tattoo led to the identification of Stephanie Crone-Overholts, who grew up and attended school in Erie, Pennsylvania, according to YourErie.com.

Tampa Police said Crone-Overholts’s most recent address was Lutz, Florida, WFLA reported, about 20 miles north of the bay. Earlier this week, police said they had located a silver Hyundai Elantra they believed was connected to the case, although they didn’t say how. That vehicle had a Pennsylvania license plate.

Police have not said how Crone-Overholts died or whether they have any suspects in her death.

Sean Overholts, the victim’s son, told WFLA that his family is devastated.

“This has been a living nightmare,” he said. “It is unimaginable what she went through. My mother will be deeply missed.”

Police said the case is still under investigation.
