Authorities in Washington are continuing to search for a 5-year-old girl who is believed to have been missing for a year.

As KIRO 7 reports, Oakley Carson, now 5, was discovered to be missing in late November 2021. It is unclear from the report whether the parents reported their daughter missing, but police doubt the parents’ claim that Oakley was last seen on November 30, 2021. Instead, investigators believe she may have been missing since February 2021.

The parents, Andrew Carlson and Jordan Bowers, are currently in custody on felony charges of  child abandonment and endangerment with a controlled substance in a incident or incidents involving Oakley’s now 6-year-old sister. They have not been charged in connection to Oakley’s disappearance.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children are asking for the public’s help in establishing a timeline of the girl’s disappearance.

“We are asking people to pay close attention to the timeline for Oakley’s case. Although you may not realize it, it’s possible that you could be a big help in this investigation. It’s going to take the entire community to find answers and help bring Oakley home,” Angeline Hartmann, the director of communications at NCMEC, said in a statement obtained by KIRO 7.

Oakley is described as 3 feet tall, 50 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.
