A young man from South Carolina is now facing serious charges following the tragic deaths of his grandparents, who were discovered lifeless in their Westminster residence earlier this month.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest of 19-year-old Levi Kevin Jones, which occurred just before midnight on a recent Friday. Jones stands accused of two counts of murder and two counts of possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

It was on January 15 that a relative stumbled upon the grim scene, finding the bodies of Larry Moore, aged 76, and Sandra Moore, aged 75, within their home on Cromer Moore Road.

Details from the arrest warrants reveal the harrowing nature of their deaths. Investigators have disclosed that Larry Moore fell victim to multiple stab wounds, while Sandra Moore’s life was tragically ended by strangulation.

The accusations against Jones include the alleged use of a knife in committing these crimes.

In the aftermath, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has stepped in to aid local investigators in processing the evidence. Authorities have also ensured ongoing communication with the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, as well as with the grieving Moore family, throughout this investigation.

A magistrate judge denied Jones’s bond during Saturday’s proceedings. His next scheduled court date is March 12, according to FOX Carolina.

Jones remains behind bars in the Oconee County Detention Center.
