The trial is set to commence for three Australian men accused of orchestrating a premeditated murder in a shocking ambush at a Bali villa, which resulted in the death of a father and left another man injured.
The defendants, if convicted, could face the death penalty by firing squad.
Mevlut Coskun and Paea Middlemore Tupou are identified as the “muscle” and shooters in what authorities believe was a gangland hit. They are on trial alongside Sydney plumber Darcey Jensen.
Australian father of six, Zivan Radmanovic, tragically lost his life in front of his wife, who was present in court along with other family members today.
Jensen is accused of organizing the logistics for the attack, including vehicles and equipment, allegedly acting under the orders of an individual based in Australia.
The other two suspects are said to have disguised themselves as delivery drivers to gain access to the villa before launching the assault.
Underworld figure Sanar Ghanim was also shot but survived the attack.
The accused trio, all aged in their 20s, were forced to reenact what prosecutors allege was a premeditated murder.
When asked what sort of penalties represent justice for the victim’s wife, the Radmanovic families’ lawyer stated, “the death sentence”.
The men are accused of ambushing a luxury villa near Canggu in June.
The trial is expected to start next week.
