Late at night, around 11:30 PM, police launched an operation targeting a group suspected of kidnapping. The victim, reportedly a bodyguard with connections to Sydney’s notorious Alameddine crime network, was forcibly taken outside his Guildford residence, bundled into his own vehicle.
Shortly after, authorities discovered the victim’s Ford Ranger partially burned in Villawood.
Approximately an hour later, at 12:30 AM, police managed to locate the victim in Casula, situated in the city’s south-west.
The victim, suffering from facial injuries, received medical attention and was transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
With the help of the Raptor Squad, five men were arrested near the Hume Highway in Casula.
Exclusive footage from 9News captures police, including Tactical Operations Unit officers, conducting a search of a nearby safehouse.
The arrested men have been taken to Liverpool Station.
No charges have been laid.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the alleged abduction and assault is under way.
