A man from Florida, who identifies himself as a “patriot,” has confessed to making threats online to assassinate Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and other “prominent politicians,” while expressing support for former President Donald Trump. This confession comes as part of federal prosecutors’ case against him.

In a YouTube comment from June 2025, Peter Ring, aged 31, wrote about the “death and extermination of Democrats,” according to a federal complaint. His threats specifically mentioned Joe Biden and Barack Obama, stating, “We will kill you Joe Biden … Obama, etc… when the time comes we will kill u,” Ring declared.

Residing in Bell, Florida—about 120 miles southeast of Tallahassee—Ring pled guilty on February 12 to two charges of making threatening communications. He was apprehended in October 2025 and now faces a potential 10-year prison sentence, six years of supervised release, and fines up to $500,000 when sentenced in April, as outlined in a plea agreement.

Court filings show Ring came to the FBI’s attention in June 2025 after The Washington Post reported receiving a threat aimed at one of its journalists. Upon investigation, the FBI identified Ring as the perpetrator. When confronted, Ring assured authorities he would cease making threats.

However, the Justice Department noted in a press release on Thursday that, just two months later, they received information about Ring continuing to post threats driven by religious and political motives against Muslims, media members, and notable political figures. Between May and September 2025, he allegedly threatened to harm or kill at least 14 individuals.

The federal complaint detailing Ring’s online threats includes numerous comments purportedly made by him on YouTube, in which he defended the current president with violent rhetoric.

“Trump Vance won cry liberals cry,” Ring wrote in a July 2025 post.

“Death to Democrats communists and every single anti trump kirk supporter,” Ring blasted on Sept. 11. “We are coming for you and you will die,” he said in another. “We Patriots will kill u all.”

Taking aim at prior presidents, Ring said, “Death to joe biden and family,” per the complaint.

“Death to obama and family,” he added. “Malia and sacha your days are very limited and I will rejoice in your killings.”

Ring claimed to have “mini arsenals” in his house, while saying he would turn “liberals” into his personal “targets,” according to the complaint. After the Charlie Kirk shooting, Ring wrote, “This is war. And the right will win.”

He added, “No more bulls—. God bless America Trump Vance 24 Vance 28 MAGA.”

Ring is scheduled to be sentenced on April 28.

“My office takes seriously any threat of violence,” wrote U.S. Attorney John Heekin, of the Northern District of Florida. “We have zero-tolerance for criminal threats directed toward others because of their religious or political affiliation.”
