A Louisiana man was charged with killing his mother, who was discovered in a trash can on Sunday.

Lisa Lloyd, aged 65, was discovered dead in a trash bin located beneath the carport at her home in Opelousas. Her son, Aaron Lloyd, 33, was apprehended in Krotz Springs. According to KADN, he confessed to police that he had injected his mother with methamphetamine, brutally beat her to death, and then placed her body in the trash can outside their residence.

Allegedly, Aaron Lloyd confessed to the crime before law enforcement became involved. Prior to the disturbing discovery, neighbors had reported a foul odor emanating from the victim’s home.

Aaron Lloyd faces charges including first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, obstruction of justice, failure to seek aid, and the distribution of schedule II narcotics.

A motive remains undisclosed. According to KADN, Opelousas police said additional arrests could follow as their investigation continues.
