Defense attorneys argued at a hearing that Nima Momeni, accused of killing Cash App founder Bob Lee, did not have an argument with Lee on the night the stabbing incident happened.

San Francisco District Attorney’s office has released text messages that indicate that the suspect Nima Momeni and victim Bob Lee had an argument the night of the stabbing incident.

During a preliminary hearing, Nima Momeni’s lawyers claimed that Nima Momeni was not upset with Bob Lee but with another man, whom the police suspected of having an affair with the sister of Nima Momeni. The said man also resided in an apartment where one of the parties attended by Lee, the deceased, took place on the night of his death.

Bradford Cohen, the attorney of Nima Momeni believes that this information will be beneficial for a future motion or trial.

The Defense attorneys of Nima Momeni claimed that the suspected knife used in the stabbing of Cash App executive Bob Lee was not thoroughly tested for fingerprints.

In a New York Post report, it was said that the kitchen knife used to stab Bob Lee was mishandled since it was not fingerprinted, which could affect its reliability. According to Saam Zangeneh, one of the defense attorneys of Nima Momeni, the police failed to conduct a proper interview with a homeless man who might be a potential witness of the stabbing incident.

The defense attorneys of Nima Momeni expressed their concerns about the police work in the case and why certain people were not interviewed and why the testing was not done thoroughly.

Crime scene investigator Rosalyn Chezk testified that she collected a DNA sample from the knife but did not conduct a fingerprint testing in order to prevent any potential contamination of the DNA analysis.

If Nima Momeni were to be convicted for the murder charges, he might face a life imprisonment sentence.
