Alleged attempted kidnapping of a woman in broad daylight foiled in Sydney

In a disturbing incident in Sydney’s south-west, two men have been charged following an alleged kidnapping attempt involving a young woman. This alarming event unfolded when the 27-year-old woman was changing a flat tire on Browne Parade in Warwick Farm, near Liverpool.

According to police reports, one of the men allegedly approached the woman, threatening her with a knife in a brazen attempt to drag her towards a Kia SUV. Fortunately, quick-thinking bystanders intervened, thwarting the alleged kidnapping and forcing the assailant to retreat to the vehicle and flee the scene.

Despite the terrifying ordeal, paramedics swiftly arrived to treat the woman for injuries sustained to her face and leg. She was subsequently transported to the hospital for further care.

In a prompt response by law enforcement, two suspects were apprehended. A 22-year-old man was arrested on the riverbank of Duck Creek in Auburn, while a 24-year-old was detained on West Street in the same suburb. Both men now face charges related to the alleged kidnapping attempt.

Paramedics treated the woman for injuries to her face and leg, before she was taken to hospital.

Police subsequently arrested two men – one 22-year-old on the riverbank of Duck Creek in Auburn, and a 24-year-old on West Street in Auburn.

It is alleged the men were waiting for the woman in a Liverpool car park before following her car to Browne Parade.

They were taken to Granville Police Station where they were charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon, and aggravated robbery and use of corporal violence.

Both men were refused bail to appear in court today.
