Staff Report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a recent incident that has shaken the local community, 17-year-old Jacquavious Green was arrested yesterday in connection with a stolen vehicle. Authorities discovered a stolen shotgun within the vehicle, and a pistol was found discarded nearby. Alongside Green, three other juveniles are now facing charges related to a series of vehicle burglaries.

The situation unfolded when police received a tip about a Ford Bronco that had been stolen from the Tower Oaks Glen neighborhood. This led officers to the parking lot of The Lofts at Oasis, located at 2515 SW 35th Place. There, they encountered four juveniles near the stolen vehicle. As the officers approached, two of the juveniles attempted to flee the scene.

Inside the stolen Bronco, officers discovered a shotgun, which had also been reported stolen. Meanwhile, a handgun was found on the ground beside the vehicle, believed to have been discarded by one of the juveniles in a hurried attempt to conceal it as law enforcement closed in.

Green was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center. He faces multiple charges, including armed burglary, grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor, dealing in stolen property, and tampering with evidence. The other juveniles involved have been charged via sworn complaints, with further legal action anticipated.

In the aftermath of the arrests, officers have identified numerous vehicles that had been targeted and burglarized. As investigations continue, additional charges are expected to be filed against all four juveniles involved in this alarming crime spree.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
