Georgia police announced on Monday that they have identified a 16-year-old girl who was found fatally beaten in February.

The girl was found partially nude in the front yard of a vacant East Point home on February 12. While the girl’s parents have come forward, the family has asked for her identity to remain private, according to the Atlanta Journal-Consitution.

WXIA reported that the girl’s mother called the police claiming the then-unidentified teen could be her daughter. The mother and father ultimately met with authorities and confirmed the girl was their daughter.

At the time the girl was found, she was reportedly wearing a gold necklace with “2005” on it and an anklet with the phrase “wicked” in alphabet cube beads. She was described as being 5-feet 2-inches tall, weighing about 100 pounds, and having short, dark hair that was recently dyed blonde.

An autopsy stated that the teen girl died from blunt force trauma. No suspects have been identified or arrested in this case.
