At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, authorities responded to a disturbance at the corner of George Street and Haymarket Street. Reports indicated that two teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, along with a 19-year-old man, were involved in an alleged assault on a bus driver and a passenger, both 25-year-old men.
After being asked to leave the bus, the group reportedly attacked two women, aged 27 and 28, who were visiting from the United States, on the nearby street.
Fortunately, none of the individuals involved in the alleged assaults required medical attention.
Police apprehended the two girls at the scene, while the 19-year-old man received a directive to vacate the area.
The 16-year-old girl now faces three assault charges, whereas the 17-year-old is charged with one count of assault.
Both girls were denied bail and are scheduled to appear in court today. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
