Tendai Biti Latest News Today: Why Was Zimbabwean Politician Arrested? Jail Sentence & Charges Explained – Net Worth?

Tendai Biti was arrested for unknown reasons. Nevertheless, the grounds are speculated to be political.

Tendai Biti is married to Charity Maguwah-Biti on 2007. There were rumors about filing a divorce case.

According to some Twitter posts, he was later released from jail without charge.

On June 12, 2008, Biti returned to Zimbabwe and was also arrested at Harare’s airport.

Biti stated before his departure from Johannesburg that he had already been informed that he would be detained.

Following Biti’s arrest, police spokesman Wayne Bvudzijena said Biti would face treason charges based on an MDC paper concerning replacing the government.

The police searched Biti’s residence, but they did not take anything.

Biti was interrogated for 24 hours following his arrest, stating that he would seek an order from the High Court order.

Biti was released because he had been imprisoned without charge for longer than the authorized 48 hours.
