The remains of Kada Scott have been discovered in a wooded area situated behind an abandoned school in East Germantown.
Kada, aged 23, was last seen shortly after she arrived for her shift at an assisted living facility located in Chestnut Hill.
Authorities initiated a search on Saturday, October 18, near the deserted Ada H. Lewis Middle School, following a “very specific” anonymous tip received around 10 p.m. the previous Friday, October 17.
Earlier, police had scoured the vicinity of the school and the arboretum in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood. While they found some physical evidence, they have not disclosed the specifics of what was discovered.
During the search on Saturday, community members gathered behind the crime scene tape, expressing their anger and frustration towards the police. Many believed that the body could have been found sooner.
As the investigation progressed, authorities identified a person of interest. They have now named 23-year-old Keon King from Dover, Delaware, as a suspect in the case.
Keon King had a criminal record prior to his alleged involvement in Scott’s kidnapping. Investigators say King kidnapped and assaulted another victim earlier in the year.
