San Antonio police announced that a body was found by Bexar County deputies and FBI agents on Tuesday during the search for 19-year-old Camila Olmos, who had been reported missing.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office shared that the remains were located at approximately 4:45 p.m. at the Burning Bush Landscaping Company, situated near Bent Cyn and FM 1560.
Police said the body had been found near Olmos’ residence, in tall grass. The clothing on the body matched what Olmos was last seen wearing, News4Sa reports.
“At this point it’s too early to tell if the body that we’ve found is that of Camila, but at this point we don’t suspect foul play,” Sheriff Jaiver Salazar with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said during a Tuesday press conference.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Olmos was last seen leaving her residence in the 11000 block of Caspian Spring a little before 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
Security footage captured someone believed to be Olmos searching her vehicle for an unknown item shortly before leaving on foot.
Salazar said a firearm was located near the body. Investigators had been searching for a missing firearm that belonged to one of Olmos’ family members.
A medical examiner will officially determine the identity.
