A Georgia woman was charged with murder in Saturday’s death of a 2-year-old boy who was reportedly mauled by her dogs.
An unlicensed daycare operator, Stacy Cobb, 48, was reportedly asleep when Kaimir Jones wandered into her backyard and entered a kennel with two rottweilers. The dogs attacked Jones, leading to his death at the scene, according to WSB-TV.
Valdosta police have accused Cobb of leaving Jones unsupervised for over two hours on the day of the tragic event. Cobb allegedly thought Jones was also asleep, as reported by WCTV.
Jones was reportedly the only child in Cobb’s care on Saturday, but cops said she usually had ten children in her care at a time.
Cobb faces charges of second-degree murder and second-degree child cruelty. According to WJBF, the two rottweilers and an additional dog were removed from the residence.
Additional charges are forthcoming as detectives continue to investigate the incident.
