Amber Goldman, 36, was taken into custody by Gautier Police Department officers on Monday. The arrest followed an investigation into the deaths of her sons, aged 2 and 5. According to a statement from the police department, they were called to Goldman’s residence at 5:30 p.m. after a report of two unresponsive children.
Upon arrival, the officers discovered the boys near a swimming pool at their home on 3 Oaks Drive in Gautier. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures before transporting the children to a local hospital, where they were declared deceased.
As reported by WLOX, an affiliate of ABC and CBS, Jackson County Deputy Coroner James Prisock verified that the boys succumbed to drowning. The specific circumstances surrounding the incident remain undisclosed.
The police revealed that Goldman faces charges for possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia. However, details regarding the exact substance involved have not been released.
