Two individuals have been formally charged today in connection with alleged shootings that took place in public areas in Sydney’s south-west.

Authorities suspect that the shootings, which targeted two residences yesterday, were orchestrated by a notorious crime family based in Sydney.

One of the targeted homes, located on Fairmont Street in Merrylands, belongs to Raf Alammedine, who is purportedly the head of a criminal syndicate.

Not long after, shots were fired at a second residence on Woodstock Road in Guildford. This property is believed to be associated with Adam Al Ahmad, whose brother Assad is also allegedly tied to the Alammedine crime network.

In the aftermath of the shootings, police observed a black Range Rover traveling along Woodville Road in Merrylands. When the vehicle failed to comply with a stop request, a chase ensued.

The pursuit, which initially wound through local streets, was eventually called off when the vehicle continued to evade capture.

The vehicle was found abandoned on Alexander Street, Fairfield, and following a search of the area, a 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station.

Following a search, police allegedly found and seized firearms and two jerry cans.

A stolen white SUV was also located on Portadown Road, Constitution Hill.

Both vehicles were seized to undergo forensic examination.

Police later raided a home on Percy Street, Fairfield, where police seized multiple items.

Both, the 17-yer-old and the 21-year-old, have been charged with firearms offences and carrying out organised criminal activity.

The man was also charged with driving dangerously.

The boy was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before a children’s court today.
