There is body camera video that reveals the police helping the victim of a road rage shooting and taking into custody the individual who is believed to be responsible. The suspect is reported to have given the injured individual a warning before shooting.
As Law&Crime previously reported, Josue Colon Matos, 30, faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and reckless driving.
Footage from Dec. 23, 2024, shows the victim telling police that the defendant had been tailgating him.
“He just kept bothering me,” the man said while laying in the back of a sedan. “I got upset.”

“I didn’t deserve any of this,” he said.
Footage shows police removing the shoe from his injured foot to treat him.
“This is gonna f—ing hurt,” the officer wearing the camera is heard saying.
Matos, meanwhile, said nothing in the available bodycam.
The victim told cops that after Matos started tailgating him, he pulled into a parking lot and the suspect followed him in, according to documents obtained by ABC affiliate WSB. The victim exited out of his car and walked up to the suspect’s car.
Matos got out and both men started arguing, according to the probable cause affidavit. That when Matos allegedly pulled out a gun and told the victim he had “until the count of three” to leave him alone.
Matos indeed counted to three and then shot the victim, according to cops. The suspect then drove away. Cops used traffic cameras to track him down and arrest him.
His attorney, however, gave a differing account than the police version of events.
“We anticipate the evidence will show the other driver was the primary aggressor and that Mr. Matos’ actions were in self-defense,” the attorney, Robert King, said.
