What 90 Day Fiance Star Jorge Nava’s Life Was Like In Prison

If popcorn is the first thing you think of when you hear the word “prison,” you might be Jorge Nava. The reality star was found with 293 pounds of marijuana that he intended to sell, per Screen Rant. The prison term cost him his freedom and his marriage, but from what the reality TV star detailed to ET, it doesn’t sound like he had a terrible time. “I was at a special unit where all the people that were there were working. It was a working part of the prison, and we had a little more than the average … like, we had a big screen TV, a couch, we could roam around, we weren’t locked up,” he recalled.

While Jorge was spending his days and nights locked up, he recognized trying to control everything was useless. “I felt, honestly, at the very beginning when I was going through it, I felt hopeless, I felt powerless. And I felt like I couldn’t do anything to reflect my outside environment,” he said. “It wasn’t until going through all of this that I was able to see that I shouldn’t try to control what’s going on out in the outside, but try to change what was within, and that little change sparked everything that has happened now.”

On Instagram, Jorge shared he lost 128 pounds while in prison. After finding himself “depressed and unmotivated,” he explained that he “started reading motivational books by @tonyrobbins and it changed [his] perspective on life forever.”
