A Georgia woman found herself in hot water after she intentionally burned her boyfriend with grease, police in the Peach State say.
Olympia Denise Laster, aged 43, has been charged with one count of aggravated battery involving family violence, as stated in a press release from the LaGrange Police Department.
The incident took place shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Stay Lodge motel on Whitesville Street in the town located approximately 65 miles southwest of Atlanta.

Officers were called to the extended stay motel about a domestic dispute, according to law enforcement.
Investigators concluded that during an argument, the victim’s “live-in girlfriend” poured a “pot of hot chicken grease” over his upper body while he was seated in a chair near the kitchen.
The victim has been identified as a 46-year-old man. He suffered “severe burns” to his head, neck, back, and shoulders, police say. He is currently recuperating at an “Atlanta area hospital capable of burn treatment,” according to the press release.
The specific motive for the alleged grease attack has not been floated by law enforcement. Additionally, it is not clear if the dispute in question was physical or merely an argument.
Details about the incident and what led up to the dispute are also scarce. Law&Crime reached out to the LaGrange Police Department for additional details and were provided the press release while a records request is processing.
The investigation is said to be ongoing and has since been turned over to the police department’s criminal investigation division, police said.
The defendant is currently being detained in the Troup County Jail without bond.
As of this writing, her case has not been publicly docketed on the court system’s public-facing website.
A review of prior court records shows a person in Troup County with the same name who was previously charged with one count of criminal trespass with family violence. Laster pleaded no contest to that charge in April 2024. Laster was also arrested on a DUI charge late last year, to which she pleaded guilty in April.
