A woman allegedly led Wisconsin State Patrol troopers on a high-speed pursuit that left one trooper seriously injured.
Martell Tolbert Mitchell, 47, faces charges of fleeing or eluding an officer in a vehicle and recklessly endangering safety after Monday’s chase. According to a criminal complaint obtained by local ABC affiliate WQOW, Illinois State Patrol alerted Wisconsin authorities that a driver—later identified as Tolbert Mitchell—had allegedly fled a traffic stop. Troopers later spotted her vehicle in Wisconsin’s Eau Claire County and attempted to pull her over.
Instead of stopping, Tolbert Mitchell allegedly accelerated to more than 100 mph, according to the complaint.

Tolbert Mitchell has not been charged in connection with Trooper Brad Ritger’s injuries. She also faces charges of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute and possessing THC with intent to distribute. She was not listed on the Dunn County Jail’s inmate roster posted Thursday.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 28.
